Maya curled up tightly in a ball, crying and sobbing. She was running out of reasons to live, and fast. Really, she'd never had a reason, besides revenging her mother's death. That was all she had. If she died in the process, who would notice?
She heard his voice, and tried to grasp his meaning, but there wasn't enough spirit left in her to do anything but turn away from him, tears still wet and fast freezing in the snows of this territory.
Then he tackled her and started screaming at her, rage clear on his face. It brought her to just enough to realize she deserved this. Maybe she needed to die. "No one cares about me. He didn't, she didn't, none of them did. Why should you?" Her voice was heavy with sorrow, and her face showed that they wasn't the pack that hurt her. She had more history behind her, in a way even worse then the rapist pack. More painful for sure. "You're stupid for not leaving. Maybe you should just kill me, my life isn't worth living." She cried, her tears stopped and a new purpose about her. "That's what I want! No one cares about me!" She growled and lurched up, her dark fur hard to see against the midnight shade of the willow. "I want to die." She said louder, and turned around, musing over the best way to avenge her mother and still die.
Then the purpose left her. What did it matter if she avenged her mother? She had told her not to do that! And even if she did, taking down a few brutes wouldn't affect much. It might just be easier to fall and die here, in this beautiful snowy winterland, the sweet smelling flowers from below and the silvery iced arches of the willows branches above her.

Chaos groaned. That went horribly... He chased after her. "Maya! You do too have a reason to live. Without you, I'd be dead right now. Without you, I'd have been lost and alone, no one to call my own, no one to love. But because of you, I have life, I have a companion, you're my only friend, and I love you... Maya... If only you could realize how precious you are to me." He reached her and stepped in front of her. She didn't even blink. She just sat there with a hanging head, probably contemplating death. "Look into my eyes Maya..." When she didn't, he lifted her head until their eyes were almost touching. He contemplating yelling again, but that didn't work... he decided to try his last resort, any dog's last resort. Begging. He spoke gently and slowly. "Please Maya... Don't do this. I want you alive. I need you. I won't hurt you. I know you don't believe me, and why should you? For all you know, I'm lying about loving you. But if you'd just look into my eyes for two seconds, and you looked past the tears, you'd see a complete wreck in need of someone to love. And I've found her Maya. It's you. Yes, it may have been stupid to not leave you. I would be a fool to not just accept your help and leave you to die. But that's how you know I love you. I'm willing to go to the ends of the earth to keep you alive. There'd be nothing worse than loosing you right now. And if you kill yourself, I'm following you. If your're gone. I may as well go to. You're my reason for life Maya. No less, but tons more." He stared into her eyes, hoping she didn't claw his nose off.

Maya was completely broken now. She couldn't trust, but his words made her want to. She couldn't live, but his words made her want to. She couldn't look into his eyes, but his words made her want to.
So she looked up, just to check. If he was lying she would kill herself. And if he was telling the truth she didn't know what she'd do. SO she looked up, just to check, and found what she hoped was truth and love and trust and honesty and instinct, what she had always wanted. Love. It was too much for her confused and wrecked mind and body, and she sagged, falling to curl at his feet, moaning and crying, her face pressed to his paws.
"I'm so lost." She whispered, "I can't be saved, I can't be found."

Chaos's heart jumped for joy. He stopped her. She wasn't killing herself. At least not yet. He could save her from here though. "Maya... This is what I'm here for. I'm here for when you're lost, crying, and alone. When nothing else seems to be going right, I'll be there, guiding you, comforting you, loving you, every step of the way. Maya, nothing will change that. I'm one hundred percent confident I love you more than anyone else in the world."
He laid down next to her and covered her tired, trembling, and broken body in soft, soothing licks. He loved her, and hated seeing her like this. But no matter how hopeless she seemed, he'd never give up on her. "Maya, I know I've been completely heartless, and I've put a lot on you, so to ease your pain, I won't bother you about love for the rest of the night. I promise. If I don't keep it, you have every right to leave me on the spot. But I'll show you that I'm not going to hurt you. You're my all Maya. My all." He straigtened up and stretched. "Now, why don't I see about getting us some food. Do you want to come with?"

Maya simply curled into his chest, seeking warmth and comfort. These were things she had never been given before, and now they were a strange luxury.
She relaxed under his licks and kisses, melting into his side. "I don't want to," She whispered. She looked deep into his eyes, just to check for that look that she'd never had before, tat look of love.

Chaos smiled and was about to kiss her forehead, but then he remembered their deal, smiled, and ran off to find prey.
He ran through the snow effortlessly, without a care in the world. Except for Maya that was. She was recovering! At long last! His friend he fell in love with was back! Whether or not she loved him didn't matter. They were friends again, and that was what mattered. Chaos spotted a bird and started moving towards it. He didn't even notice what kind it was until he had caught it. His thoughts were so focused on Maya that everything else was a blur. He didn't think anything else mattered besides a strong, determined, stubborn, black wolf who meant the world to him. After snatching another mouse, he headed back to Maya, praying she hadn't been faking to make him go away.

Maya curled up in the snow, the weeping willow's branches brushing against her sides and head before she stood and burrowed a small den just big enough for her to roll up in, concealing herself in a surprisingly warm chamber of body heat inside the snow.
Her tears dried as the snow continued to fall, covering up her body with it's silken whiteness. She thought over her past, no longer quite so broken as before. Maybe he could help her. Maybe not. But the urgency for avenging her mother was back. In the morning they could head out....

Chaos returned, shocked and frightened at first, when he didn't see Maya, but there she was, waiting for him, down in the snow. He dropped the bird and mouse in front of her "Take your pick, I'm hungry for either." She took the mouse, which would've been his choice. For a second, he wondered if she was ticking him off on purpose. He shook snow off of himself and laid next to her, devouring his bird, a sparrow, he just noticed. He decided that it was foolish to think that just because she'd eaten his choice, she had it out for him, and he wasn't about to start a pointless quarrel. There's no way she was trying to irritate him by slowly depriving him of mice, one by one.
He snuggled close to her, and his breathing slowed match hers as they fell asleep together for the first time in days.
Chaos dreamed that night. He dreampt that they were storming her mother's clan, wiping out every brute and fae they saw. Once they were defeated, and her mother was laying in a pool of blood, Chaos saw Maya walk up to her mother, and with an intense and horrifying shriek. finished her off. Then she turned back to him. The fire in her eyes had returned. The Maya he fell in love with was right there. He ran to her, but she stopped him. He was then taken by the scruff and lifted off the ground by her. They flew over prairies, caves, meadows, and acres upon acres of forest. Once they arrived to Scourge and Maya's sleeping burrow, Scourge looked at the two of them. They looked so peaceful, so serene. But then the unthinkable happened. It turned out that the ghostly figure carrying him was actually Maya's mother! Chaos froze as she walked up to Maya and snapped a chunk out of her neck.
Chaos snapped awake, panting. He quickly sniffed Maya, and sighed relief when he felt her warmth and breathing. Chaos knew that, even though she was fine now, something terrible would happen in the ambush. He didn't know what, but the more he thought about it, the more he wished it were over.

Maya drifted asleep, and went back in time...
He stood over her, smiling. "That's why I'm here Hun, for when you are lost and alone, and need help. I'll always be here for you." He promised, licking her tear streaked face. "Why would you think that? I would never hurt you!" He looked shocked, honestly and truthfully horror-stricken. It comforted her to know that he really did care. "Tyrk, I love you." She leaned into his side, a common trait of hers now a days. She tilted her head and parted her lips, accepting of his as they came down to first sooth, then demand from her. The gentle movement became fierce and turned on, and he roughly pushed her down, moving his body down to meet hers...
When she woke they lay close, just touching. Her mother would kill her! She had done 'it'! She was no longer a virgin, and enjoying it! Her mother would be shocked! But who said she had to tell? She could hide it...
That was the first time Maya ever thought of deceiving her mother. The second was that same morning, as the sun slowly warmed their two cooled bodies, heating them once again, and she decided she wanted his pups. She would never leave him. Never. He quickly agreed to her idea, and the next weeks were full of deceitful sneaking around behind her mother's back, saying she was thirsty and instead meeting him for another round, or going 'hunting'. Soon she was heavily pregnant and her mother raged, but she refused to give in...
Then she saw them. Tyrk was mating another female, actually multiple ones. He was 'bored of no sex', since her being pregnant kept them apart. She screamed and raged and cried, saying he had broken her heart. He had cheated on her! Once the pups were born he snuck in and stole them, and she didn't care. That was the day the Pack found them. One face, the Beta's, haunted her. It was Tyrk. He was the first to rape her mother, saying it was Maya's fault. If she hadn't gotten pregnant her mother never would have known, and he wouldn't have cheated on her with the Others. And when he cheated he met the Pack, learning and enjoying their ways of tearing apart wolf packs for the sexual fun. This was all in the Forest. As Tyrk bent over her, taking her innocence forever, his hated and feared face dissolved. In it's place was another, one with strange colors and a big spot. Chaos.
Maya woke up minutes after Chaos did, gasping for air and jerking away from his touch. In much the way he was now thinking, this hunt would go bad. Tyrk would be there, her old love, who had turned to the Pack. And now her new love would be there, also offered the best way of life any brute or male could go begging after. Was this was the second part of a growing prophecy, or just coincidence to Chaos's dream?

OOC: I thought Maya was a virgin? Huh, oh well. Shoulda payed closer attention, lol. Y'know, just when I thought I had it figured out, lol
Maya seemed weird that morning. She barely responded when he talked to her, and she jerked at his touch. He wondered if she had dreamed too. He normally didn't believe in such nonsense, but his dream last night had seemed so real, so close, and most of all, so terrifying. He looked at Maya, admiring her long black fur. How much he longed to be invited into that fur once again! To hear her soft, gentle voice whispering in his ear that everything would be okay, and that he didn't need to worry. She used to talk about how easy destroying the pack would be, but as the hour of truth drew nearer, Chaos sensed that both of them were losing confidence and strength. These last few days had really strained him for all he was worth. It was worth it though. He had her alive, and in his grasp. He looked at her face. She was glaring at him. Well, maybe not 'entirely' in his grasp. "What's wrong Maya? Why are you glaring at me." Her eyes filled with some emotion he had never experienced or seen in her, she almost screamed "Stop looking at my rump you dirty brute!" She ran at him, bit his flank, and ran off.
Redclaw gasped as pain flowed into his new wound, and blood gushed out. With the only strength he had left in his lower muscles, he rolled over and covered the wound in snow. He lay there, panting. What on Earth do I keep doing wrong? Every time it seems like I fix the problem, it comes back and bites me in the flank! His panting slowed as he realized he needed to conserve his energy, and he tried to keep his flank as still as he could, so as not to open the wound again. It wasn't my fault I was dayreaming and her stupid rump got in the way. I can't believe Maya would act like this! Something must be bothering her.
His thoughts went back to the possibility that they'd shared dreams. Perhaps from her point of view, it looked like I was the one killing her, with her mother's help! I need to ask her about her dreams. He sniffed the air. Her scent was somewhat closeby, but it was hard to tell under his faltering senses. He really needed to have his wound properly treated. "Maya!" He called. "Maya Minka! Come back here! We need to talk!"
