The stony hollow was dark and shadowy as a tabby with golden-brown fur peeked left and right to see if anyone was watching. Nope. Coast was clear. Brambleclaw passed a sleeping Cloudtail on his way out of the hollow. Such a lazy cat, Cloudtail. Kin of the clan leader or not, Cloudtail was one of the loudest Thunderclan warriors in history. Along with his loud mouth came a quick witted attitude and sharp tongue. There were definately some things Brambleclaw wouldn't miss. With a sigh and a heavy heart, he left the hollow for the last time.
Rain came down from overhead, dripping off the trees and landing all around him. Was this an omen from Starclan that what he was doing was wrong? Hmph. Starclan. A lot of good they did him. It was because of their prophecy that he even began to tolerate Squirrelflight. Until recently, she had been his mate. Until that one fateful night at the gathering when... Brambleclaw shook his head as the pain from his memories brought tears to his eyes. This wasn't how he was going to start his new life. He was going to start it bold and courageously. Like a real warrior should.
He padded on until he was well out of Thunderclan territory, and settled in a barn that had a bunch of white fluffy sheep in front of it. They were all asleep and it was quite tempting to see what they tasted like, but Brambleclaw was so tired from his walk that he flopped down onto a hay stack and fell asleep. Dreaming of a place where secrets and lies were unheard of...
OOC: Sorry it's kinda short, but I figured it gave enough background. Can't wait to see what you do with it!

A flash of silver, and a loud squeak. That was all that was to be seen before the mouse's fateful end. Its life wasn't ended in vain however, for the one who caught it had a rumbling stomach from days of traveling.
A silver tabby, her fur was the color of moonlight, her pelt covered in stripes and dots of pure black. Her eyes were the color of sea-glass, greener then the forest grass. Her ears were more rounded then most, and her body was slim with long legs, though her thick fur easily covered that, making her more poof then slick.
Her name was Stripepelt, and she was a feral cat, born from a feral mother, and a feral grandmother. Her great-great grandfather had been a Riverclan Cat, so the generations knew how to fish and swim. As did she, but that skill was no good in a barn full of sheep and mice.
She had moved here in the night, and was now gorging on the fat rodents that scurried freely, having never met a cat before. The sheeps' musky scent hid everything, and so she smelled nothing but sheep and mice. She never noticed Brambleclaw.
The mouse had taken its last breath, and now she tore into it, the savory flavors and scents pleasing her. It was her first good mouse in over a moon. A whole moon! Recently she had traveled the coast, with the great wet, and all there was were fish and those nasty tasting great wet birds! Ew! How good this mouse tasted, and the second as she feasted happily.
A baby sheep caught her attention, but it was too big. Too bad, she would be interested in tasting it's meat. It was quite fat...

Brambleclaw awoke to scuffling in the barn. Still sleepy, he jumped up and crashe dinto a flower pot. It fell to the floor with a crash and startled whatever had been eating what smelled like a mouse. Brambleclaw opened his mouth and let the scents flow in. Sheep... Mouse... Cat... CAT? He honed his senses on the cat. It seemed to be from riverclan... He sniffed again. Yup, there it was. The smell of water. But not lake water. She smelled like the water from the sun-drown place! He took in her scent to find out two important details. One, she headed West, towards the water, and two: she was female. Ears pricked, he strode out of the barn.
It was still night when he was woken up, and he relied only on his smell to get him through all the sheep. Once out of the sheep pack, he realized that he'd lost her scent. Sniffing around desperately, he quickly relocated it on the other side of the fence. He hopped over it and without a moment's hesitation, he fled across the fields, hoping to find some kind of companion.
He followed her scent for what seemed like moons, when he finally smelt it growing stronger. His pace slowed and he crept up on her. She was sitting alone in a little clearing in the reeds. Brambleclaw noticed for the first time that he was in reeds as well. There was a pond surrounded by leaves that made for a nice little home for a riverclan rogue, but not for a brave and loyal thunderclan cat like him. No! He wasn't thunderclan anymore. He was a rogue, just like this cat. Taking a deep breath, he puffed up his chest and walked into the reeds to meet her.

The loud crash freaked out Stripepelt, catching her off guard. Dirt, root, clay, and bits of a plant showered down from up above, and the screech of pain from whatever had moved it. She instinctually grabbed the mouse, and shot off outside. Soon she had reached her hideout, the small pond with tiny fish and huge leaves surrounding it. She dropped the mouse, pushed aside some leaves, and soon three fronds had formed a hut-like shelter for her. She brought her prey into it, and settled down to finish eating.
What was that? What made it move I wonder? Oh well. Probably a stupid cloud on legs! She snorted with amusement.
Then suddenly the reeds nearby moved, and a big, dark brown tabby stepped out. He had shocking amber eyes, and huge paws. She shivered. He reminded her of someone... Someone from an old tale of her mother's... Tigerstar!
She recoiled, hissing, then remembered he had died. But his son still lived! She knew little about his son though, so she wondered if this was even him, what his name was, or if he was Pure Evil like his father?!

Now that he was closer, Brambleclaw clearly distinguished her as the Riverclan cat. She didn't smell of the Riverclan he knew though. She was of a Riverclan without time. She was from the forest Riverclan. When she hissed, Brambleclaw knew what she was thinking. It was the first thing any forest clan cat would think. It's Tigerstar! Of course, being his son wasn't much better, but it was all he was.
"Uh, hi" he stuttered. "I'm Brambleclaw... I know I might look like someone you know, but I'm only his son." He waited for her response. She simply snorted and sat down, keeping her eyes on him the whole time. "I'm not evil..." He continued, "Please tell me your name"

OOC: Ya, not here... xD
Stripepelt smiled sarcastically. He would have to prove his words. "I am Stripepelt," She purred. Her voice was strange and lyrical, not the brass of the deep bells, and not the silver of the chimes. She was copper, the perfect mixture. Deep with high lilts, and light with low tones.
She smiled, and sat, munching on the mouse while he watched. She was not embarrassed, as she was starving.
OOC: I have a feeling this one won't be the longest tonight, but whatever lol, let's keep posting anyways. Length can come later

OOC: I'm fine with like, two liners, lol
Brambleclaw watched her with a little reservation. He didn't have to like her, why did she insist on being so mean? If he was that big of a problem, then he would leave. "Very sorry to have wasted your time, I must be going then. Enjoy your scrawny mouse!" He knew the scrawny mouse line would get her. All she-cats were alike, hated being made fun of. Especially Squirrelflight. Well, he had plenty of thing to make fun of her for now. However he was done with her. She was out of his life, and he out of hers. Their paths would no longer cross ever again.

OOC: Good xD
Stripepelt was confused. "Touchy much? I didn't do anything." She snorted. She had been a feral cat since the second she was born... Insults rarely bugged her. This one was annoying, but not enough to rile her up... Yet.

Brambleclaw sighed. He'd tried the easy way, now it was time for the hard way. He quickly spilled out his story of Squirrelflight, his flight from Thunderclan, and all that. Now he sat and waited to see if this method worked. OOC: Pathetic

OOC: lol Yup Especially since I have no idea what happened with Squirrelflight xD Stripepelt listened, and nodded. Now she trusted him. What a sad story! "Do you want some food?" She asked, pushing him the half eaten mouse. They could talk once he'd eaten...
