Bryna laid exhausted on her side panting softly. Nothing seemed real at the moment except for the pain in her body. She vaguely thought she could hear someone saying her name and trying to get her to talk. She opened her mouth to reply only to moan quietly. Bryn felt someone grab her ruff and try to move her causing her to moan and snarl in pain.
A short time later Bryn felt something covering her and noticed she was a bit warmer but the pain was still there causing her to whimper softly. She managed to open her eyes a little as she felt the cool water trickle down her face before she let her eyes drift shut again. Groaning softly her body relaxed a little as the water slid down her throat. She was still too out of it to notice anything but the pain that seemed to be getting worse.
She shouldn't have gone after the deer alone or perhaps at all. Bryna's thoughts ceased as she drifted completely into the darkness her mind shutting down to block out the pain.

OOC: Probly a good time for a fox Eclipse! If it's okay with you Aiyana.
Icarus started pacing back and forth. They couldn't make their home here. It was in the middle of nowhere! How he wished someone knew where to go! He laid next to her, licking her furry, swollen belly as her breath came out in short huffs, making her sound even worse than she looked.
The night was long, and filled with pain, moaning, and trips to the river. Icarus had found a little round shiny container to start carrying water in, and it worked nicely. Bryna tried to sleep, but she just couldn't seem to find peace. Icarus whimpered and snuggled closer.
Icarus had tried to remember what herbs helped ease birth pains, but all he could remember was a remedy for bellyaches. He had decided that, her belly was definitely aching, and it couldn't hurt. Apparently it could hurt. She started vomiting an hour later, and Icarus seriously doubted that it wasn't his fault. He knew that he was just making things worse, and he felt terrible. He was supposed to be helping, not making things worse! He shuddered and licked her ear. "I'm sorry Bryna... I'm so sorry."
OOC: sorry it's short, im kinda waitin for the fox to jump in.

(OOC: I'll wait for Eclipse to jump in after this post.)
Bryna was only half aware of what was going on throughout the darkness of the night. The pain in her body was almost overwhelming and she was grateful to Icarus who was doing what he could to try and make her feel better even if she was only half aware of it.
She tried to rest but with the pain she couldn't get comfortable even with Icarus bringing her water. He had found some herbs that he thought might help and she gladly ate them. However, about an hour later she started vomiting which caused the pain in her belly to increase.
Moaning in pain Bryna tried to relax. She barely felt Icarus lick her ear and almost didn't hear his words. Her mind was beginning to shut down again and she wasn't sure that she would be able to survive this. It all hurt so much and she just wanted it to end. Closing her eyes Bryna whined softly in pain feeling the darkness starting to creep back into her mind slowly numbing the pain as she passed out again her body and mind no longer able to handle the amount of pain she was in.

Nico crept through the trees, hearing the repulsive sound of retching up ahead. Ah! These stupid young wolves kept coming in and trying to take over the fox owned forest, and then they got lost or wounded. But if they were able to break the grip of their old territory, good for them! He approved. Being under the spell of love is one thing, but a lust for sex and a body against yours? It was disgusting!
He shuddered. The only one he was interested in could care less about him! He shook that thought away, and instead he crept up. Through the leafy branches of the bush he stood behind, he could see the femme. She was seriously sick, and may not make it through the night without treatment. Thankfully, he knew what was wrong. She must have eaten one of the contaminated prey that was being passed around. Then he noticed what she was eating now; they looked like healing berries but were really the bite of death! After a few hours, if they weren't treated, they would start to eat the body up inside out. A very distasteful, very painful process. He shuddered again, and turned away.
Taking off at a quicker pace, he soon reached the small patch of freshly budding flowers, with pink petals and purple centers. They were smaller then a pea, but their roots were very powerful. He gripped them in his jaws and yanked, pulling a clump of root up...
≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈
When he reached the bush, a brute laid beside the pretty, and sick girl. He was obviously grieving, and had no idea what to do. And she was passed out cold: her body's reaction to the sickness was to put her under, so she wouldn't feel the pain.
He snorted softly, not at her, at himself. He needed to work fast now. But that male would cause problems, he was almost sure of it. But for now he appeared to be asleep, so Nico crept in silently, and began turning the root into paste.
Once he had chewed the clumpy roots into a wet paste, he spat them out onto a chunk of leaf, oak, which was good for healing. Then he force fed the ointment to her, picking up her head, dumping in a chunk of coated leaf, and making her jaws move, then he would stroke her throat and induce the swallow reaction. As he fed her the last life saving leaf segment, he sensed the brute beside them stir, and he tensed.

Rus stirred... Something was nearby... He sniffed, half awake. It was another male. He bolted up, not waking Bryn who was sleeping surprisingly soundly beside him. He growled and bared his teeth at the new male, "What are you doing!? Stay away from my mate!" Icarus gave him a shove with his head to keep him away. It wasn't a relatively hard shove, just a 'stay away' shove. The male wasn't a very big wolf, so he didn't pose an immediate threat, but Rus still had his guard up.
It was then that he realized this newcomer didn't smell like a wolf. It was smaller and more lithe. His eyes still clouded by sleep, he sniffed again. It was definitely some type of canid. But he hadn't smelt it before. At least, not for a while anyways. He stood up and growled, ready to protect his mate against this newcomer, whatever it may be.
To his surprise, it wasnt some crazy fast creepy type of animal. It was just a fox. Fox or not, he was touching his mate when she was critically sick. He then noticed the leaf poultice he was giving her. He simmered down a little and apologized. "Sorry, I thought you were something else, or trying to hurt her. What's wrong with her? I gave her berries to help ease the pain, but they don't seem to be working... I'm really worried about her... I'm not even sure if she will live..."

Nico snorted. Typical. The males almost never knew anything, and females knew very little usually. It seemed only the rare Healer or everyday fox knew anything of the art of Healing. He lightly used his muzzle to shove back, being careful and quiet, then went back to his work. "I am Healing her idiot. While you were killing her!" He growled softly, knowing sleep was the best thing for the wounded female.
"Whatever you fed her last, it was poisoned. The prey has been sick because of humans recently, and you have to check the prey before you eat it! But you newcomers don't understand this, and it's going to kill you off, all of you. Slowly but surely!" Nico snorted again, and finished giving her the poultice. He checked her pulse with one gentle paw, then moved away a few feet to show he meant no harm. With a slight beckon, he and the brute moved back to a spot where they could watch her, but with quiet voices, they would not wake her. "And on top of feeding her sick prey, you try to go and fix her with Death Berries! The nerve! The idiocy!" His expression was now cold, cruel, calculating, and serenely shocked at how naive some wolves were. All foxes knew Death Berries, even if they lived in the Arctic where none grow! And all checked their food before eating, even if they were raised a million miles away from humans and their disgusting poisons, and sickness. A fox would never make these idiotic mistakes. Bryna moaned softly. She was starting to regain consciousness but everything was still dark, heavy and muffled. All the sounds she heard were distant and dull. Her eyes felt so heavy as she attempted to open them. Everything began to hurt again. Whimpering in pain she curled up as much as she could in her half conscious state. The pain seemed almost worse than before and everything faded again as she passed out once again due to the pain.

Icarus was taken aback. Who did this fox think he was? barging in and yelling at him for trying to save his mate. At least he was helping. Bryna's pups weren't even his, yet he was doing everything in his power to save them. "Listen, buddy. These pups aren't even mine, and I'm busting my butt to save them. So if you want to help fine, but you don't have to be a jerk about it. If you're going to help my mate, then you better show me and her some respect." Icarus growled at the newcomer. He didn't like him, and he definitely didn't want him feeding his mate who knew what. But then he stopped and looked at Bryna. If she was as weak as she looked, then maybe this fox was what she needed. He stepped back to let him work, but the glare and growl never left his face.
